The Benjamin Shapell Family Manuscript Foundation was established by Benjamin Shapell in 1985. The Foundation owns one of the world's most important collections of original American source material in private hands The collection has many signed manuscripts, signed photographs and many kinds of documents related to Lincoln, American presidents, Twain, Custer, American Jewry and superlative Presidential manuscripts. It is deep, as well, in 19th and 20th century manuscript material relating to the Holy Land.

The scope and outreach of the BSFMF has, for many years, included the lending of landmark manuscripts to international exhibitions; now using the internet we are proud to share the wide knowledge that has been acquired in the foundation along the years. Our new website launching in October 2008 will present the full collection.
